YourTube 2 Allows You to Import YouTube Videos to Your iPhone’s iPod Library

Guest Author, Sep 6, 2010

There are some 3rd party applications that aren’t such a big deal and offer a novelty type of tweak to your iPhone. Then there are apps like YourTube 2 which give you a feature that makes sense on every level and affirms your decision to jailbreak your device.

The ModMyI hosted application exclaims on its site that it offers the experience that YouTube was designed to be. I tend to agree. The app allows you to download content directly to your iPhone for later viewing…

Even more exciting is newly implemented tweak that allows users to save their downloaded content directly to their iPod library. The pricing of the app goes as stated from its hosted website:

The tweak is free if you bought YourTube after July 1, $1 upgrade if you bought it before July 1, and $5 if you’ve never owned it. And it fully supports the iPhone 4.

Will features like this ever be allowed inside the Apple walls? Give YourTube 2 a try and let us know if it worked as smoothly as it sounds in our comment box below.

    It’s great

  • Z

I love how it’s integrated into the default YouTube app

  • Sy

Does it work with iPad do we know?

    • Burge

I think it’s called tour tube HD for the iPad

  • iPutNwurk

That’s cool & all but MiTube virtually does the same thing, but you can choose to download between low, high, and HD res. and it’s free. Don’t see why anyone would choose to pay $5 unless they don’t know about MiTube.

How do I sync the youtube videos to itunes? And is there a hack that can turn the videos into mp3′s?

    • SimonOrJ

You can’t. You will need to move files from var/mobile/media/YourTube to computer by “SSH-ing” or by other ways like using iFile.
I also want Youtube to MP3 right on device or something like that! I can’t find it off of the research! :(
