Have you ever been annoyed by the badges showing on the folders of your iPhone? Personally, it never bugged me but Chpwn, the developer of No Folder Badges must think otherwise.

No Folder Badges is a new tweak available in Cydia that does one single thing: removing the folder badges (ie. badges for available app updates, unread emails, etc…).

After installing this mod, you will realize that all badges showing on your folders are gone. No Folder Badges doesn’t come with any icon, or special settings.

It is available in Cydia for free. Just out of curiosity, is it something you think is useful?

I’ve been waiting for something like this badly, but I don’t think I wanna kill *all* folder notifications. If it let me choose which folders that’d be great.

But I’ll install it anyways. Notified Pro + Notifier will let me know of any notifications without annoying badges or anything.

The badges are part of the iPhone, why get rid of them ?

  • Jon Garrett

    @ Burge

    1. because they are annoying
    2. because updates available in appstore are not always available via installous
    3. because they’re annoying

    • Burge

pay for your apps, then do the update

      • Burge… Right on. I have bought every app I got from installous. That’s like 30 lol

    • Z

I think Burge covered the solution to your problems. I just wanted to mark 1. and 3.:
How annoyed are you gonna get when you miss an important email, update etc.
iPhone is priced so high so parents DON’T buy an iPhone to EVERY kid, it’s a business phone for busy people that depend on the BADGES to do their work.

They should make a mod that stops the AppStore for looking up updates for your cracked apps! Patent pending

  • badge

hehe for me, it’s a useful apps! thanks!

  • Kjeldor

its the same thing.. it removes only the meta of the apps downloaded by installous or cracked apps…
this way, you wont see the updates of the crack apps on the APP STORE. awesome isnt it?

you even undo this with a click of a button.. and then redo it again!

Like dannyswrld says, it’s good to have this in combination with Notified Pro which makes the badges kind of obsolete. Would be great if the developer had included an option to completely disable badges for all apps, but I’m sure something for that will be available sooner or later.

    • They can’t reveal all the magic in round 1 🙂

      • Burge

Sounds like you got some inside info on the next update ?

      • Z

        Smart observation @Ethan
