Remember back at the WWDC when Steve Jobs talked about Netflix coming to the iPhone this summer? It turns out they met their deadline because the recent update is up in the App Store and includes iPhone and iPod Touch support. Highlighted in the apps description is the following:

Get Netflix on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Just download this free app and you can instantly watch TV shows & movies streaming from Netflix.
– It’s part of your Netflix unlimited membership. Not a Netflix member? Start your FREE trial today.
– Watch as often as you want
– Resume watching where you left off on your TV or computer
– Browse movies and manage your instant Queue right from your device

Early reports indicate good performance over both Wifi and 3G. The app is free with your Netflix membership so go get it now. Let us know how it’s working for you in the comment box below.

Ha! Figures. I just hacked mine to stream on the sly maybe two weeks ago.

I’ve watched a couple of shows on it so far, and performance is good. I wish it had better tools for managing your Instant Watch queue, but at least I have the Flixster app for that.

Watched a movie today while at work on 3g. Quality and sound was great. Wish there were more tools as well.

How can you download a free app if you don’t want to use the AppStore for some reason ??

Mine loads up fine but when I got to watch anything it goes to the load screen for a second then back to my instant queue
