AppSync for iPhone

AppSync 4.1 is now available for download for iPhone iOS 4.1.

AppSync 4.1 will work with iOS 4.1, 4.0.1 and iOS 4.0. To download and install, you must first add http://cydia.hackulo.us as a new source in Cydia, then look for AppSync 4.1.

AppSync for iOS 4.2 is now available. Look it up on Cydia. It will work with iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone, iPad, and iTouch.

    AppSync for ios4 is available through hackulo.us as well. Works for me.

    I did it like Z said. The installous app in hackulo.us is the original and very friendly app. Then, you have install0us (there is an “0″ (zero) instead of an “o”) that it’s a copy of the other one.

    I’ve been JB since Spirit for 3.1.2, and even after I install AppSync for OS 4.0, my iTunes keeps deleting my Installous-installed apps (it seemed to do that with my previous version too). Am I supposed to de-select “Sync Apps” in my iTunes? If I do that, then I don’t have access to apps I paid for from the App Store that aren’t available on Installous. Am I just being a moron? (and yes, I realize I just opened myself up to a butt-load of ridicule with that one).

      This is a common issue and it’s very easily overlooked but VERY easily fixable. The problem is at some point or another, you synced your iDevice to iTunes and it asked you if you wanted to transfer the apps you got off of installous:

      I’m assuming you were like me and checked the “Do not ask me again” box thinking that it would from now on just automatically transfer the apps without asking you. Incorrect…by checking that box, it doesn’t save the choice you last used (in this case, “Transfer”) but instead it automatically choose “Don’t transfer” which causes it to delete the app on your iDevice after syncing.

      To fix this, simply reset your iTunes warnings by right-clicking on your device on the left hand side:

      Close iTunes, reopen it and re-sync. You should now get the box asking you if you want to transfer the apps. Do not check the “Do not ask me again” box. You must keep doing these transfers by manually clicking “Transfer” every time you sync and have installed new apps from Installous.

      I hope this helps you guys that have been having this problem. I had the same thing happen to me and this fixed it. :)

    That happened to me time ago. What I did was to sync before installing AppSync and then when I sync with installous downloaded apps, didnt delete anything..

    Is there a way to get apps from installous to a non jailbroken iPhone? I have the cracked apps on iTunes but when I try to sync them to a non jailbroken iPhone it tells me there’s an error..

    @Eddy No, you need AppSync and you can download it from Cydia

    AppSync does NOT work for me! I have downloaded it, added Apps then synced it to iTunes and iTunes removes them…every time! I’ve tried EVERYTHING!

    Ooooo…..Kaaaaay…..here goes…..I turned OFF the iTunes sync in the SETTINGS of installous and so far it has…..WORKED! I have synced my iPod several times, placed the Apps together in a file, re-synced, added an App from Apples App shop, re-synced and ejected my iPod…all of this I have done SEVERAL times…..and it has…..WORKED!!!!! so far ;-/
    I’ll keep you all updated.

    @Michael Did you install AppSync from http://cydia.hackulo.us/ source? or from sinful source?

    when you download the installous it should download the appsync too, thats what it did for me but do it AFTER you’ve snycned to iTunes, then turn OFF the iTunes sync in the istallous settings, thats what worked for me and still is.

    i have with iTunes sync ON and works perfectly.. i just synced before installing any application of installous..

    Hey German, Not sure what to say buddy. It seems that different settings and methods are working for different people. Maybe all our methods and ideas will help others find a result…hopefully. Mine is still working so I’m happy, hope others get sorted too.

    @Jader você tem que ir dentro no cydia ao solapa do “Manage”, depois “Sources” e tem que tocar o botão de “Edit” (arriba na dereita). Vai a aparecer-te um botão que diz “Add” (arriba da izquerda) e ali você agrega a source

    hihi, i am on os 4.01 with appsync 4.0, i could download and install app from installous, but when i tried downloading ipa file on apptrackr..i double clicked the ipa file and it appear in my itunes, but when i click and sync it, strangely it doesnt install the game but the game icon appear in the right of the itunes screen of the iphone artwork. Anybody can help on this?

    @wz you have to select “Sync Apps” in Application flap.

    Jader, este e a resposta para sua consulta:

    Download and install ifile (from cydia), just ignore the reloading
    then start ifile and go to the root map: /
    then to the map: /usr
    next: /usr/lib/
    then: /usr/lib/apt
    go to /usr/lib/apt/methods and you’ll see a file called http
    copy that and paste it it same directiory and say rename
    then push the button next to http (1). en select the name and delete the whole name and type in HTTP with capitals (your case you can have error saying Http then only type the H in capital) and do it for all the error’s
    restart cydia and won’t get the error again

    depois comente se foi OK

    @German: hihi, i did click on apps sync, and no installation of the app, and after sync-ed the app icon will appear in the right of the itunes that looks like an iphone. But it does not appear in my actual phone :(

    sorry to add, is it not possible to install old ipa apps that has not been updated for months or years into Os4.01?

    i did add cydia.hackulo.us and sinful but doesn’t work because the check box for sync apps(i couldn’t check that box).why?????????????

    @Jader, try this:

    Just SSH into your iPhone, navigate to the following folder:

    /private/var/lib/apt/lists

    delete everything except the folder “partial” (You can move them to a folder in your PC/MAC just in case)

    Restart Cydia and no more warning this time! Go to Changes and press Refresh and all the changes should be there again!

    It at least works for me…do let me know if it works for you

    I think we kinda got something corrupted and Cydia just doesn’t know what to do…..

    @wz really dont know whats happening..

    @Michael.. try checking and unchecking that box..

      @German, i am having the same error. I tried what you said to Jader but it didn’t worked for me. Errors are still showing when i open Cydia. Maybe you know still know something else. Thanks!
