if i upgrade my iphone 3g from version 3 to ios 4 will it restore to factory settings and will i need to have it jailbreaked again? does that make sense?

The same thing happened to me! The trick is to hold down the home button on step 3 for a few more seconds, even after the screen changed.

HINT: This worked for me better when i had restored my iphone to factory settings before actually going through with it all. Somehow it just worked better!

try going onto safari on ur iphone type http://www.jailbreakme.com and it will jailbreak 100% safe iv don it to over 20 ipod-iphones without any problem

i was going to do this but before i did it i read all the comments i have jailbroken my ipod touch 3G at the website http://www.jailbreakme.com i have discoverd that if you go on safari by your iphone and type http://www.jailbreakme.com it will jailbreak ( this dosent work on the 3g iphones that cant get a background on them) when you jailbreak make sure not to update oor jailbreak will delete..

I SUGGEST YOU DO THIS WEBSITE
http://WWW.JAILBREAKME.COM type it in on safari and install it 100% works no problem

I was having a lot of trouble jailbreaking my iphone 3G. It would always get stuck on the waiting for reboot screen. Turns out it was my timing of pressing the buttons. I had to start pressing the lock key as soon as I pressed the next button. Once I did that it all went to plan!

this is one of the reasons I don’t like tethered jb’s, other than the inconvenience of the boot but things like safari and cydia don’t work until the tether has been complete.

i had jb(jail broken)3g iphone os 4.2.1 bb 6.15.it hung up regularly.i did restore it got stuck. i read through lot of forums.i will describe what to do.first go to (ih8sn0w.com/index.php/products/view/ireb.snow )download.snowbreeze. searchgoogle for step by step guide for jailbreaking using snowbreeze.make your own customipsw. firmware save it on desk top
from the same site download IREB run it.follow instructions.
satrt itunes.when it says restore click ok. hold shift and then select restore.browse to the location of the saved ipsw and select it.itunes will restore the firware on the phone.
