camera for ipadIt’s too bad that a great device like the iPad doesn’t have a camera. Fortunately, there’s an app that will turn your iPhone into an iPad camera. It’s not the perfect solution, but it should do the job…

All you need to use your iPhone as a camera for iPad is the Camera for iPad app. After installing the app on your iPad and iPhone, simply launch it on both devices and they will find each other via Bluetooth. Your iPad will then show what your iPhone camera is seeing.

Intuitive controls let you zoom with a pinch or rotate with a swipe. You can just tap the button to take a high resolution photo that is saved onto your iPad.

Camera for iPad isn’t just for the iPad! You can connect an iPhone to an iPod Touch, or even connect one iPhone to another, and choose which is the sender and which is the receiver.

Camera for iPad is available from the App Store for $0.99. While I haven’t personally tried the app, MichaelB who tipped me on this confirms it works like a charm.

What do you think?

Why? Just turns your iphone into an instant transferring device for photos. Cant see why anyone would use it. Maybe I’m wrong. Any uses anyone?

  • Ernesto

What if someone’s iPhone camera isn’t working… So they use somebody else’s. Maybe??

  • Iphonerd

Lmao, does that mean they forcing whoever buying an ipad should buy an iPhone too?? Crap!!! I brought a lot of my friends nto iPhone era, now some of them talking about getting ipad and I am glad that I was able to convince them not to 🙂 in my opinion we should wait until next gen ipad. Remember iPhone 2G???

“Honey, why is your phone in the bathroom?”

  • Polemicist

    LOL @greytone

Umm OK so we use a device that doesn’t have a front facing camera to be able to have a camera on another device that doesn’t have a front facing camera and we actually have to pay for the application that lets us do that?

Or we look at engadget and see the ICD Gemini that has a spec sheet that says it will have everything you could ever want including voice calls, SMS, 3G/WiFi/Bluetooth, larger screen hell it even has an FM radio plus a 2 meg front facing and 5 meg rear facing cameras all running on Android? Hmm and Apple wonder’s why this cute little iPad cops such bad press. Hey they are pioneers forging a new era in communication so I will tip my hat to them for that then walk away quietly and buy something else.

I still love Mac OSX and the Mac computers don’t get me wrong – but iPhone OS 4.0 can’t change the hardware we have been given now can it?

  • Didnt get the point ???

  • If and when I get an iPad I will certainly use this. 🙂

    • @Clay Wait to see tomorrow’s article. I know you said you’d buy an iPad 3G but you won’t have to…
