Downgrade baseband 05.12.01 to 04.26.08Last week I wrote about downgrading iPhone firmware 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 using an old trick. Unfortunately, this hack worked for downgrading the firmware but it didn’t help downgrading the 05.12.01 baseband that comes with firmware 3.1.3 and makes it impossible to unlock the iPhone.

If you accidentally updated your iPhone 3G to 3.1.3 and lost your unlock, you’re in luck! There is now a way to downgrade iPhone baseband 05.12.01 to 04.26.08 in a few simple steps thanks to Fuzzyband, an application available through Cydia.

Please note that this only works with the iPhone 3G on OS 3.1.3 with baseband 05.12.01 and the older bootloader 05.08. Let me repeat this so it’s clear. This trick will only work for iPhone 3G 3.1.3 baseband 05.12.01 with bootlloader  05.08. This will not work for the iPhone 3GS.

If you’re not sure about your bootloader, simply download and launch Fuzzyband and it will give you more info about your bootloader.

How to Downgrade iPhone Baseband from 05.12.01 to 04.26.08

Step 1: In order to downgrade your iPhone baseband from 05.12.01 to 04.26.08, you must first jailbreak your iPhone using RedSn0w, PwnageTool, or even Sn0wBreeze.

Step 2: After jailbreaking, launch Cydia, then search for and install Fuzzyband.

Step 3: Launch Fuzzyband then tap “Downgrade”, which will start the downgrading process.

Step 4: Reboot your iPhone.

Congrats, you successfully downgrading your iPhone baseband from 05.12.01 to 04.26.08. You should now be able to unlock using UltraSn0w. If you’re not sure how to do that, check out my tutorial on how to unlock iPhone 3.1.3.

    Just update your itunes and it will automatically do it for you. I hope your talking abouot os 4 not unlocking it?

    yes all you have to do is upgrade it then jailbreak it and put in cydia repo666.ultrasn0w.com and that unlocks your phone

    My iPhone was OS 3.0 accident updated by iTunes to OS 3.1.3, BB 05.12.01, BL 05.09.
    Just used UltraSn0w 0.93 (install using Cydia -> search UltraSnow), worked for me!!!!

    done as everyone has said and now it keeps saying celular network restrecited. any ideas? im at a loss its 3.1.3 3G used new ultra snow and up dated using repo 666 but all i get is o2 and no signal bars :O(

    Yes, there is. First you need to jailbreak your iPhone.

    1) go to http://www.spiritjb.com , it’s really easy
    2) Open cydia, open resources and add
    repo666.ultrasn0w.com
    3) search for Ultrasn0w (it’s a 0 zero)
    DONE

    If you upgrade to ios 4.0 you can not use spirit… Instead use redsn0w.

    If you have a 3g like me, i would suggest you not to upgrade! It suck

    it turned out my unlock problem was because it was black listed! bought it from ebay so if anyone outhere is thinking of buying a phone from ebay ask for the imei number from the seller before you commit! thanks to everyone for their help!

    Hi will Fuzzyloader work on first gen Iphone 2gs
    I swear ever since I accidentally upgraded the firmware through Itunes 9 my phone has had nothing but problems. Stuck in spinning apple loop. Locking up and going gray after calls, texts etc.
    I’m so frustrated I just want to revert back to 1.4 and downgrade my baseband any ideas?
    I used Blackrain on the last jailbreak and Bootneuter through Cydia for the unlock.

    the problem is i cant unlock the phone bcoz of the F**K BB and i searched all internet all they say u have 2 downgrade the BB by WIFI now wht i have 2 do no internet or wifi and i want 2 unlock it
