Just a minor tweak or two to make. I'd been a Blackberry user for years, and that feature was solid gold to me. I must have had over 100 of the keyboard shortcuts, and I used them every day. I really missed that when I went to the iPhone. I'd literally spent hours looking for this type of application between iTunes and Cydia. Obviously, I bought this app as soon as I read the article. The reason I have to say "so close", is that it still jumps the gun a bit. For example, I commonly use a couple of quick messages... "Call me when you can.", and "Call me when you can. No hurry." On the Blackberry, the first shortcut that I used was cmwyc, and the second was cmwycnh. I can't use the second one, because as soon as I type cmwyc, it spells out the first message, not even giving me a chance at the second message. The workaround was for the second message, the shortcut is cmwyc,nh. This is only one example of what I percieve of where a bit more tweaking is needed. The translation shouldn't take place until the space bar is hit. That way the entire shortcut is read first, then interpreted. The second tweak I would recommend would be for the macro list to display alphabettically. And last, but not least, let the macro be named in either lower or upper case. What I mean by that is, if I type cmwyc, it will not be translated out to call me when you can. I need to type Cmwyc for it to be interpreted out to the intended message.
