I don't remember syncing or plugging the phone to iTunes the last time. Recently (two days ago) I changed my passcode and completely forgot it. I tried to guess the password my typing the numbers until the message on the screen appeared, like ' connect to itunes'. I can't connect to iTunes as the phone is locked. Some of the people tell me to use DiskAid or SSH (WinSCP). I downloaded both of them. I couldnt use to DiskAid as I had to connect to iTunes from the same computer at least once. I couldn't use the SSH (WinSCP) as I need the IP address in order to SSH the root directory and navigate to the file including passcode, wife, email, etc.
Now, do you think if I follow the steps indicated above would somehow help me do remove the passcode? Please advise, as I'm completely clueless about all this stuff.

Hello, I have a 2G Iphone that was cracked to be used with tMobile. I was in extreme pucker mode after getting nothing but the apple logo with periodic USB connect/disconnect sounds and vibrations for nearly 30 minutes. Your recovery instructions worked perfectly.

Kevin0323 – Thanks for the recovery instructions. After restoring to the brand new Restore file, iTunes will prompt you to restore service to the phone, select yes, then run QuickPWN.

Also, I forgot to mention. Let go of just the power button, then press the power button again while still holding the Home button and iTunes will eventually recognize that it's in "Restore Mode" and you can restore from backup. (If you have one).
Now to attempt QuickPWN again correctly, realize that they left out the first step in the program. Open iTunes, click on your phone on the left, hold the shift button down, and click the Restore button. This will open a file browser where you can select the newly downloaded iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw. Restore to this file. This is an important step because it starts the iphone from scratch. Then, reload QuickPWN and browse to the same Restore file. When running QuickPWN 2.2.5 or 2.2.1 it will close iTunes. This is okay, don't worry about it. When it gets to the third step and asks you to hold down for 30 seconds, really hold down for 30 seconds. Don't let go when it moves down to the next process. Still count down from where it leaves off to zero, then let go. Then let it do it's thing. You should only have to wait about a couple of minutes for it to do it's thing.

If you are on the iphone 3g 2.2.1, and you can’t get past the apple logo upon completion, restore your iphone by opening itunes, then holding the Home button down for 5 seconds, then hold the power button until it turns off.
